ANKARA, November 22. /TASS/. The Gaza contact group, which includes foreign ministers from Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Nigeria, Palestine, Saudi Arabia and Turkey, insisted at the talks it held in London and Paris that "Israeli crimes" should not be justified, a source at the Turkish Foreign Ministry told TASS.
"In the course of meetings in Paris and London, the delegation underscored the importance of achieving a complete and sustainable ceasefire in Gaza as soon as possible and said that it is a priority for the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League to seek effective and urgent measures in this regard by the members of the UN Security Council and the international community. The delegation underscored the urgent need to ensure safe crossings for the delivery of humanitarian aid, food, water, fuel and electricity to Gaza. The delegation underscored that Israeli crimes should not be justified in negotiations and called on all countries that have influence over Israel to act in accordance with international law and to take measures to achieve comprehensive peace and a two-state solution," the source said.
Additionally, the contact group pointed to "the importance of working together to achieve a lasting and comprehensive peace," according to the source.
