Kazakhstan prepares new program of experiments aboard ISS

NUR-SULTAN, April 13. /TASS/. The government of Kazakhtan is working to draft a new program of experiments on board the International Space Station (ISS), the press service of the republic’s Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry has told TASS.

"At present, the National Center for Space Research and Technologies, jointly with scientific organizations and higher education institutions of Kazakhstan, is preparing the sixth scientific program of experiments aboard the International Space Station. However, due to latest developments regarding the operational time of the International Space Station, the timeframe for coordination and implementation of this program will be adjusted," the press service said.

The ministry reminded that Kazakhstani cosmonauts participated in five manned space research programs.

"With the initiative and support from the country’s leadership, five manned programs of space research and experiments were carried out on board the Mir multi-purpose orbital station and the International Space Station, with the participation of cosmonauts Tokhtar Aubakirov (1991), Talgat Musabayev (1994, 1998 and 2001) and Aydyn Aimbetov (2015)," the press service said.

Roscosmos Director General Dmitry Rogozin said on April 5 that Russia and Kazakhstan would continue to develop their cooperation in the space industry, including in the program of manned spaceflights.
