BEIJING, September 21. /TASS/. Chinese authorities are ready to work with the United States to promote global peace and stability during Chinese President Xi Jinping’s upcoming visit to the US, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Guo Jiakun said.

"China is ready to work with the US to add substance to constructive strategic stability between the two countries, strengthen dialogue and cooperation, properly manage differences, steadily improve the well-being of the peoples of both countries, and promote global peace and stability," he said at a briefing when commenting on Xi Jinping’s upcoming visit to the US.

The Chinese diplomat noted that mutual visits by the leaders of China and the US "are of historic significance and serve as an important milestone."

China’s Foreign Ministry earlier announced that Xi Jinping will make a state visit to the United States from September 23 to 25. Last week, Reuters, citing a senior US administration official, reported that US President Donald Trump plans to discuss trade, rare earth supplies, artificial intelligence technologies and the global economy with the Chinese leader in Washington.
