Tokayev congratulates Putin by phone on successful State Duma election — Kremlin

The two leaders reaffirmed their mutual commitment to further dynamic development of comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between Russia and Kazakhstan

MOSCOW, September 21. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone conversation with his Kazakh counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the Kremlin press service reported.

"During the call, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev congratulated President of Russia Vladimir Putin on the successful completion of elections to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation," the press service said. The two leaders also reaffirmed their mutual commitment to further dynamic development of comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between Russia and Kazakhstan.

"It was pointed out that the outcome of the elections convincingly demonstrated broad public support for the strategic course of the President of Russia aimed at protecting Russia’s long-term interests," the press service added.

"The leaders also discussed a number of practical issues on the bilateral agenda and interaction in the Eurasian space, including in the run-up to a meeting of the CIS Heads of State Council scheduled for early October in Turkmenistan," the statement said.
