MOSCOW, April 3. /TASS/. Diplomats from the Russian Consulate General in New York on Monday had a meeting with the Russian pilot Konstantin Yaroshenko, who is serving a 20-year term in an American prison, the legation said in a tweet.

"On April 1, a meeting between the diplomats from the Consulate and Konstantin Yaroshenko was organized in Fort Dix jail with the assistance from the [Russian] Embassy," it twittered. "In the course of the meeting, he complained over the groundless searches in the presence of other people and bad personal treatment by a Russophobic prison official."

"Yaroshenko made a supposition he was a target of attempts to provoke violations of the prison rules on his part in order to place him into a dungeon and to obstruct his communications with the family and the mass media," the report said.

"An official appeal has been filed with the prison directorate," the Consulate said.

"It contains a demand to observe Yaroshenko’s legitimate rights. The Consulate General keeps the situation under permanent control.".
