BEIJING, December 18. /TASS/. China expects to deepen practical cooperation between Beijing and Moscow following the results of Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin's visit to the country, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Wang Wenbin told a briefing.
"We look forward to deepening cooperation between the two sides after this regular prime ministers' meeting, expanding cultural and regional exchanges and further deepening the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination," Wang Wenbin said.
Regular meetings between the prime ministers of China and Russia are "an important mechanism to promote the implementation of the consensus of the two countries' leaders and coordinate practical cooperation in various fields between the two sides," he said. The diplomat recalled that such meetings have been held annually since their establishment in 1996.
Wang Wenbin added that under the strategic leadership of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin, China-Russia relations have maintained a healthy and stable development. He pointed out that next year, the two countries will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and inaugurate the China-Russia joint cultural years.
