It is noted that the rights and freedoms of our citizens are inviolable

MOSCOW, February 21. /TASS/. The elections scheduled for 2023 and 2024, including the presidential election, will be held in strict compliance with the law and with observance of all democratic procedures, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his State of the Nation Address to the Federal Assembly on Tuesday.

"Both the local and regional elections in this year’s September and the presidential election in 2024 will be held in strict compliance with the law and according to all democratic constitutional procedures," the head of state said, recalling that "Russians are the basis of the country's sovereignty, the source of power."

"The rights and freedoms of our citizens are inviolable, they are guaranteed by the Constitution, and despite external challenges and threats, we will not retreat from them," Putin promised.
