KIEV, July 12, /ITAR-TASS/. Ukraine’s national gas company Naftogaz Ukrainy says private gas producing companies working in the country should from August pump half of produced gas to the underground gas storage (UGS) facilities, the company’s press service said.
Naftogaz Ukrainy’s CEO Andrei Kobolev told representatives of privately-owned companies the pumped gas would be used from January 2015.
The company says the gas pumped into UGS facilities will remain property of the producers, and Naftogaz will oversee timely consumption of the gas in the agreed amounts.
“The parties also discussed current problems of the producing companies and economic compensators for the market participants,” the press service said. “The private companies have agreed to organise a working group.”
Naftogaz Ukrainy reports: out of 21 bcm of natural gas produced in Ukraine in 2013, 2.8 bcm was produced by privately-owned companies.
