Hungary gets assurances from Belarus on continuation of Russian oil transit

Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic are receiving Russian oil from the southern branch of the Druzhba oil pipeline going from Belarus via the territory of Ukraine

BUDAPEST, March 25. /TASS/. Hungary received assurances from Belarus on provision of the reliable Russian oil transit over the Druzhba oil pipeline, Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said after the meeting with Belarusian Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich at the Atomexpo-2024 international forum.

"Oil supplies to Hungary would not be secure without the help of Belarus, since not merely a source but also a reliable transport route is needed for sound deliveries. The Druzhba oil pipeline, with Hungary receiving oil over it, passes via Belarus, and Belarus is the reliable and predictable partner," Szijjarto said on his page in Facebook (prohibited in Russia due to its ownership by Meta, which has been designated as extremist).

"Today my counterpart, Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich confirmed that we can count on the reliable transit role of Belarus in the future, Szijjarto added.
