Russian banks, companies continue finding ways for international payments

The Bank of Russia once again decided to maintain the key rate at 16% per annum at its second meeting in 2024, the regulator said in its press release earlier today

MOSCOW, March 22. /TASS/. Russian banks and companies continue looking for and finding ways of solving the problem of international settlements, Central Bank chief Elvira Nabiullina said at the press conference after the regulator’s Board meeting.

"Certainly, there are difficulties with making cross-border settlements because of sanctions. Nevertheless, banks and companies are finding different methods [of making settlements] with various countries and change these methods rather flexibly, when complications intensify," Nabiullina noted.
