Yars road-mobile ICBM regiments to deploy to field positions for comprehensive checks

MOSCOW, March 22. /TASS/. Yars road-mobile ICBM (intercontinental ballistic missile) regiments will deploy to field positions in comprehensive checks of Russia’s Strategic Missile Force units, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on Friday.

"Final comprehensive inspections have begun for Strategic Missile Force units and formations to check the results of the 2024 winter training period. The inspections of the Yoshkar-Ola (Republic of Mary El), Tagil (Sverdlovsk Region) and Barnaul (Altai Region) missile formations envisage command and staff exercises under the direction of commanders of large missile formations, during which Yars road-mobile missile regiments will deploy to field positions. Security and protection units will accomplish the objectives of providing engineering support, radiation, chemical and biological protection in the course of maneuvers by missile regiments," the ministry said in a statement.

During the inspection, the commission of large missile formations will review the system of training subordinate military units, inspect the process of preparing alert forces for combat duty. In other missile formations, inspections of missile regiments, command centers, security and protection forces will be carried out under the direction of their commanders, it said.
