Russian Tu-95MS strategic bombers perform flight over Arctic, Far East — top brass

The crews of Russia’s long-range aircraft regularly perform flights over the neutral waters of the Arctic, the Northern Atlantic, the Black and Baltic Seas and also the Pacific Ocean

MOSCOW, February 15. /TASS/. Two Russian Tu-95MS strategic missile-carrying bombers performed a scheduled flight over the neutral waters of the Chukchi and Okhotsk Seas, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported on Wednesday.

"Two Tu-95MS strategic missile-carrying bombers performed a scheduled flight in the airspace over the neutral waters of the Chukchi and Okhotsk Seas. The flight lasted over seven hours. The crews of Su-30 fighters from the Eastern Military District’s Air Force and Air Defense Army escorted the bombers during the flight," the ministry said in a statement.

On February 14, two Russian Tu-160 strategic missile-carrying bombers performed a scheduled flight over the Barents and Norwegian Seas during the drills and also two Tu-95MS strategic bombers carried out an aerial patrol over the neutral waters of the Bering Sea in a flight that lasted over seven hours.

The crews of Russia’s long-range aircraft regularly perform flights over the neutral waters of the Arctic, the Northern Atlantic, the Black and Baltic Seas and also the Pacific Ocean. The aircraft of Russia’s Aerospace Forces perform all the flights in strict compliance with the international rules of using the airspace, the Defense Ministry stressed.
