G7 leaders reaffirm commitment to supporting Ukraine — statement

This is stated in a joint statement released after the G7 virtual meeting

TOKYO, December 6. /TASS/. The leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Ukraine in a joint statement released after a virtual G7 meeting.

"Our steadfast commitment to supporting Ukraine’s fight for its independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity will never waver. We are taking additional steps today to support Ukrainians in their pursuit of a comprehensive, just and lasting peace that will uphold all the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations (UN), including respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty. We are determined to support an independent, democratic Ukraine within its internationally recognised borders. We continue to support Ukraine in further developing [Ukrainian] President [Vladimir] Zelensky’s Peace Formula," the statement reads.

Zelensky was invited to attend the meeting.
