MINSK, May 5. /TASS/. Ukraine is not interested in negotiations with Russia, but the question as to why this is happening should be posed to Washington, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said in an interview with the Associated Press on Thursday.
"I know Russia’s stance, and I know what proposals Russia is offering Ukraine. But why is Ukraine, on whose soil a war is actually occurring, [where there are] combat operations, [where] people are dying, — why is Ukraine not interested in these negotiations? This is a question you need to ask Washington," the Belta news agency quoted Lukashenko as saying.
Belarus categorically does not accept any war, he stressed. "We have done and are doing everything now so that there isn’t a war," Lukashenko told AP.
