KIEV, March 1. /TASS/. Ukraine’s application for EU membership under the accelerated procedure has been accepted, registered and is being considered, Head of the Office of the Ukrainian President Andrey Yermak said on Tuesday.

"Yesterday, [President] Zelensky signed Ukraine’s application for EU membership under an accelerated procedure. [It] has been accepted and registered," Yermak stated on his Twitter page.

The head of the president’s office noted that Zelensky planned to make a video message to the European deputies on Tuesday.

 , sending a cover letter to French President Emmanuel Macron, whose country chairs the EU Council, as well as to President of the European Council Charles Michel and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
