MOSCOW, July 15. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Angela Merkel believe that the Minsk Agreements have no alternative and therefore condemn Kiev’s statements about the need the review them.
According to the Kremlin press service, Russian head of state "emphasized the counter-productivity of Ukrainian attempts to distort the substance of the Minsk Agreements."
"He underscored that the Kiev’s course towards selective fulfillment of its obligations brings the negotiations process to a stalemate," the Kremlin said.
"Both sides condemned recent statements made by Ukrainian officials that the Minsk Complex of Measures must be reviewed. The sides confirmed that the Minsk agreements as the only basis for settlement of the inter-Ukrainian conflict have no alternatives," the press service said.
According to the press service, "both sides noted the importance of total and unconditioned implementation of the Complex of Measures and decisions, adopted during the Normandy Four summits, including the December 9, 2019, Paris summit.
"Vladimir Putin and Angela Merkel spoke in favor of ramping up efforts in this direction, primarily at the level of aides to heads of states of Russia, Germany, France and Ukraine," Kremlin said.
The phone call of two leaders happened on the German initiative.
