MOSCOW, November 29. /TASS/. The doping scandals trotted out against Russian athletes are aimed at fueling the ongoing anti-Russian commotion, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday.
The Russian president is well-known for his firm stance on the inadmissibility of doping in sports, or any displays of support for it, the Kremlin spokesman said.
The country’s leadership has consistently repeated that there has never been any state support for doping. Also, on Putin’s instruction, Russia's sports authorities are broadly cooperating with international athletic organizations in that sphere, Peskov stressed.
"However, despite such openness displayed by the Russian side, there are advocates of escalating the situation and using it to unleash more anti-Russian hysteria," Peskov said.
