MOSCOW, February 21. /TASS/. Russian Sports Minister Oleg Matytsin held a working meeting with North Korean Vice Sports Minister O Kwang-hyok, the Russian Sports Ministry reported.
The parties discussed prospects and opportunities for cooperation between the countries in the field of physical education and sports aimed at strengthening cooperation in the field of physical culture and sports, as well as developing sports exchanges. During the meeting, Matytsin and O Kwang-hyok concluded a protocol on sports exchanges between the sports ministries.
The protocol includes seminars, training courses, participation in training events in rhythmic gymnastics, soccer, synchronized swimming, figure skating, taekwondo, wrestling, boxing, volleyball, basketball, canoeing, weightlifting, judo, table tennis and other kinds of sports.
The draft document and interaction plan were discussed during the visit of the Russian delegation to the DPRK. North Korean athletes are also invited to participate in the BRICS Games and the World Friendship Games to be held in Russia in 2024.
