Russia is doing everything it can to prevent the extradition of Russian citizen Yevgeny Nikulin arrested in Prague on Tuesday to the US, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a press briefing on Thursday answering a question from a TASS correspondent.

"The Russian Foreign Ministry and the Russian Embassy in Prague are actively working with the Czech authorities to prevent the Russian citizen’s extradition to the US," she said. "Appropriate measures have been taken through diplomatic channels. The necessary consular and legal assistance to the Russian citizen is provided as well. He has been furnished with a lawyer."
