ADDIS ABABA, February 19. /TASS/. Expanding cooperation between Russia and Ethiopia benefits both countries, Russian Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko said.

"Every country stands up for its national interests, and the expansion of our bilateral interaction aligns both with the national interests of Ethiopia and Russia," she said.

Matviyenko added that cooperation in the spheres of energy, agriculture, business and trade is being discussed. "There is a lot to work on," she noted.

A delegation from the Russian Federation Council led by Matviyenko arrived in Ethiopia on February 18 for a three-day visit.
