MOSCOW, March 7. /TASS/. Russian forces repulsed four attacks and seven counterattacks by Ukrainian army units in the Avdeyevka area near Donetsk, eliminating roughly 390 enemy troops over the past day in the special military operation in Ukraine, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported on Thursday.
"In the Avdeyevka direction, units of the Battlegroup Center took more advantageous sites and inflicted damage by firepower on the personnel and equipment of the Ukrainian army’s 24th, 78th and 110th mechanized brigades near the settlements of Mayorsk, Novgorodskoye and Orlovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic. They repulsed four attacks by Ukrainian assault groups near the settlements of Leninskoye, Novgorodskoye and Rozovka and also seven counterattacks near the communities of Petrovskoye, Berdychi, Orlovka, Tonenkoye and Pervomaiskoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the ministry said in a statement.
The Ukrainian army’s losses in the Avdeyevka area over the past 24 hours amounted to "390 personnel, 2 armored combat vehicles, 14 motor vehicles and a Gvozdika motorized artillery system," it specified.
Russian forces also destroyed a Ukrainian field ammunition depot, the ministry said.
Russian forces destroy 40 Ukrainian troops in Kupyansk area over past day
Russian forces improved their frontline positions and inflicted damage on Ukrainian army personnel and military equipment in the Kupyansk area, destroying roughly 40 enemy troops over the past day, the ministry reported.
"In the Kupyansk direction, units of the Western Battlegroup improved their forward edge positions in their active operations and inflicted damage on the Ukrainian army’s 14th mechanized and 25th airborne brigades near the settlements of Novosyolovskoye and Stelmakhovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic. In addition, they repelled six counterattacks by the Ukrainian army’s 57th motorized infantry brigade near the settlement of Sinkovka in the Kharkov Region," the ministry said.
The Ukrainian army’s losses in the Kupyansk direction over the past 24 hours amounted to 40 personnel, 2 motor vehicles and a Gvozdika motorized artillery system, it specified.
Russian forces improve frontline positions in Donetsk area over past day
Russian forces took advantageous sites and repelled a Ukrainian army attack in the Donetsk area over the past day, the ministry reported.
"In the Donetsk direction, units of the Southern Battlegroup took more advantageous positions and repelled an attack by an assault group of the Ukrainian army’s 31st mechanized brigade near the community of Novomikhailovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic. In areas near the settlements of Ozaryanovka, Kurdyumovka, Georgiyevka and Pobeda in the Donetsk People’s Republic, they inflicted damage on manpower and equipment of the Ukrainian army’s 24th, 28th and 33rd mechanized, 79th and 92nd air assault brigades," it said.
The Ukrainian army’s losses in the Donetsk area over the past 24 hours amounted to 200 personnel, 3 tanks, 2 infantry fighting vehicles, 5 motor vehicles, an Msta-B howitzer and a D-20 howitzer. Russian forces also wiped out four Ukrainian ammunition depots, it specified.

Russian forces destroyed roughly 160 Ukrainian troops in the south Donetsk area over the past day, the ministry reported.
During the last 24-hour period, units of Russia’s Battlegroup East improved their forward edge positions and inflicted damage by firepower on massed personnel and military equipment of the Ukrainian army’s 58th motorized infantry, 105th and 128th territorial defense brigades near the settlements of Shevchenko, Staromayorskoye and Urozhainoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic and Novodarovka in the Zaporozhye Region, the ministry specified.
"Near the settlement of Vodyanoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic, a counterattack by the Ukrainian army’s 72nd mechanized brigade was repelled. The enemy’s losses amounted to 160 personnel, 2 armored personnel carriers, 3 motor vehicles and a Strela-10 surface-to-air missile system," it said.
Russian forces destroy Ukrainian ammo depot in Kherson area over past day
Russian forces destroyed a Ukrainian ammunition depot, a US-made artillery system and an electronic warfare station in the Kherson area over the past day, the ministry reported.
"The enemy’s losses amounted to 30 personnel, 2 tanks, 2 motor vehicles, a US-made M777 artillery system and an Anklav electronic warfare station. An addition, an ammunition depot of the Ukrainian army was destroyed," the ministry said.
In the Kherson direction, units of Russia’s Dnepr Battlegroup took more advantageous sites and inflicted damage on manpower and military hardware of the Ukrainian army’s 65th mechanized, 128th mountain assault, 35th marine infantry and 15th National Guard brigades near the settlements of Rabotino, Verbovoye, Novodanilovka and Stepovoye in the Zaporozhye Region and Novotyaginka in the Kherson Region, it said.
Russian forces hammer Ukrainian troops in 109 areas over past day
Russian forces inflicted damage on Ukrainian manpower and military hardware in 109 areas over the past day, the ministry reported.
"Operational-tactical aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, missile troops and artillery of the Russian groupings of forces destroyed a depot storing fuel for military hardware, a command post of the Ukrainian army’s 80th air assault brigade and struck enemy manpower and military equipment in 109 areas," it specified.
Russian air defenses down six US-made HIMARS rockets over past day
Russian air defense forces shot down six rockets of the US-made HIMARS multiple launch rocket system and a French-made smart bomb and destroyed 123 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles over the past day, the ministry reported.
"During the last 24-hour period, air defense capabilities shot down six rockets of the HIMARS multiple launch rocket system and a French-made AASM Hammer guided air bomb," the ministry said.
In addition, Russian air defense systems destroyed 123 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles in areas near the settlements of Olshana in the Kharkov Region, Chervonopopovka, Novodruzhesk and Zolotaryovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic, Krasnoye, Peski, Pervomaiskoye, Shevchenko and Petrovskoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Ocheretovatoye and Novoye in the Zaporozhye Region, Korsunka and Krynki in the Kherson Region, the ministry reported.
In all, the Russian Armed Forces have destroyed 576 Ukrainian warplanes, 267 helicopters, 14,563 unmanned aerial vehicles, 482 surface-to-air missile systems, 15,388 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,234 multiple rocket launchers, 8,314 field artillery guns and mortars and 19,461 special military motor vehicles since the start of the special military operation, the ministry reported.
