LUGANSK, November 9. /TASS/. Lawmakers of the People’s Council, the parliament of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR), will adopt the new LPR Constitution by the end of the year, speaker Denis Miroshnichenko told TASS on Wednesday.
"We will be adopting the Constitution in November or December," he said.
According to the speaker, the new Constitution will not differ seriously from the one that has been in force for the past eight years.
"We adopted that constitution within the framework of the Minsk negotiation process, as a subject of the international law. Now, the format will be different, but the foundation, laid by the previous constitution eight years ago, will remain the same," he said.
Miroshnichenko told TASS in October that the duration of the transition period that followed the LPR accession to Russia may be reviewed, with the integration process being shorter than was previously expected.
