Mopping up of village near Severodonetsk in LPR being completed — Chechen leader

According to Kadyrov, the village has strategic importance for the Ukrainian army

GROZNY, June 19. /TASS/. Chechen units and People’s Militia of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) are completing the mopping-up operation in the village of Metelkino in the exact proximity to the LPR’s city of Severodonetsk, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov said on Sunday.

"Akhmat special force units jointly with the second corps of the LPR People’s Militia are completing the mopping up operation in the village of Metelkino to liberate it from the enemy. Most of Ukrainian troops have voluntarily surrendered weapons and those who are trying to render resistance are being neutralized," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

According to Kadyrov, the village has strategic importance for the Ukrainian army. "Ukrainian nationalists could reach Severodonetsk from here and distract Russian forces from the Azot plant. No way. The village has been cleared of nationalists and mines," he added.
