EU, not Russia avoids the truth, Russian deputy envoy to UN says

During the UN Security Council meeting on Ukraine, Charles Michel accused Russian servicemen of sexual crimes and the claimed that Moscow is responsible for the global food crisis

UNITED NATIONS, June 7. /TASS/. Russia is ready to listen to the truth, but it is the EU that evades it, Russian First Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Dmitry Polansky tweeted in response to the remarks made by European Council President Charles Michel.

During the UN Security Council meeting on Ukraine, Michel accused Russian servicemen of sexual crimes and the claimed that Moscow is responsible for the global food crisis. Russian Permanent Representative Vasily Nebenzya left the meeting after these works.

"You may leave the room, maybe it's easier not to listen to the truth," Michel said to the leaving envoy.

"We came there to listen to the truth," Polyansky tweeted in response. "But EU clearly doesn’t need it and we heard only cheeky lies and unsubstantiated claims many of which have been already debunked. It’s painful to see such low professional standards and lack of manners from key EU functioners!".
