Investigative Committee to probe into use of violence against police at rallies in Moscow

According to a spokesperson for Moscow’s branch of the Committee, there were several incidents at the unauthorized rally in downtown city

MOSCOW, January 23. /TASS/. Detectives have launched an inquiry into the use of violence against police officers and riot police at unauthorized rallies in downtown Moscow, Yulia Ivanova, a spokesperson for Moscow’s branch of the Russian Investigative Committee, told TASS on Saturday.

"The investigative bodies of the Moscow Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee have organized some pre-investigative inquiries into the facts of the use of violence against law enforcement officers," she said.

According to Ivanova, there were several incidents at the unauthorized rally in downtown Moscow.

"The inquiries are to establish the facts of illegal activities and assess the actions of the persons who committed them," Ivanova said.
