Russia expects from Abkhazia to honor obligations on Russian investments

MOSCOW, December 25. /TASS/. Russia expects the Abkhazia will perform obligations of the ally, including creation of conditions for Russian investments at the legislative level, official spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said.

"It is obvious that relations between allies anticipate the balance of mutual obligations. We assume that Sukhumi will also travel its part of the way in accordance with mentioned documents, including as regards harmonization of legislation to create required conditions for Russian investments and so on," the diplomat said.

"And we hope that in conclusion of early presidential election, and it is set in Abkhazia for February 15, 2025, a leader will be elected that will continue working on progressive development of Abkhazia and bilateral relations with close ties with our country," Zakharova added.

She reminded that Russia in response to the formal address of acting president of Abkhazia Badra Gunba made a decision on social overflow of electric power to Abkhazia, being governed by humanitarian considerations. Supplies will be from December 23 to the end of February 2025.
