The flood

Heavy rains in the Krasnodar Region inundated about 30 communities, damaged highways and railroads, detained trains and destroyed several bridges and approaches to them. There are electric and gas supply interruptions, and Tuapse, a city of 60,000, is still without water. Residential houses and yards in the Tuapse and Apsheronsk districts and Sochi were flooded. A state of emergency was declared in the Krasnodar Region.

The Investigative Committee launched the investigation. The Emergencies Ministry issued an emergency warning about heavy rains with thunderstorms, hail and strong winds in the region on October 25-26.
