Hainan's Sanya opens Cultural Industry Fair on December 30

More than 260 companies will participate in the forum

HAIKOU /China/, December 28. /TASS/. Sanya city on the southern coast of Hainan Island opens the 7th China International Cultural Industry Fair on December 30. According to the organizers, the event will run until January 2.

The theme of the Sanya fair is "New stimulus in culture - focus on the free trade port." More than 260 companies related to the cultural industry will take part in in the event as well as organizations and enterprises from many countries, government exhibition delegations from 14 regions of China.

Visitors will have the opportunity to explore more than 40 thousand objects of culture, which will be presented in five thematic sections. The main part of the fair will be held in the Hongshulin International Exhibition Center. It will also be held concurrently in two of Sanya's model villages, Bohoutsun and Meilianzun.

Among the goods that will be on display are paintings, books, jewelry, porcelain, embroidery, and numerous creative industry items. The fair is devoted to the arts as well as closely related spheres - tourism, cultural heritage, gastronomic design.

According to the organizers, during this large-scale four-day event there will be commercial presentations, exhibitions devoted to international cooperation, global and Chinese culture, science and art, development of the free trade port. This time special emphasis will be made on innovation. In this regard, at the fair the public will be able to see the latest developments related to modern multimedia projects, film and animation, Internet technology and artificial intelligence, advanced forms of agriculture and maritime economy.

Exhibitions are among Hainan's fastest-growing sectors. According to the forecast of the Provincial Department of Commerce, its scale will constantly grow and by 2025 the income of this sector will exceed 60 billion yuan (about $9.4 billion). The department estimates that its growth rate will be around 12%.
