Belarus bans entry of freight transport registered in EU from April 16

The restriction will not apply to motor vehicles that entered Belarus before April 16 until April 23

MINSK, April 15. /TASS/. Belarusian authorities approved tit-for-tat measures in respect of motor vehicles registered in the European Union and banned their entry, press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Transport said on Friday.

"The ban on movement of motor vehicles (automobiles and truck tractors) registered in the European Union across the customs border of the Eurasian Economic Union to Belarus is introduced from 00.00 midnight [coinciding with the Moscow time - TASS] of April 16, 2022," the Ministry said.

The exception is made in cases when such motor vehicles are moving via special crossing points to designated areas for freight operations and changing.

The restriction will not apply to motor vehicles that entered Belarus before April 16 until April 23. Motor vehicles registered in the EU that transport mail and livestock will move without restrictions.
