BELGOROD, March 9. /TASS/. The fortification line in Russia’s Belgorod Region is complete, Belgorod Region Vyacheslav Gladkov announced Thursday.

"We have completed it. I hope that the enemy can see, in what volume and with what quantity we’ve built it," he said, adding that the works that cost almost 10 billion rubles ($131,787,400) were not paid from the regional budget.

The governor also noted that the region is building a multi-directional layered security system.

He also pointed out that the state border is being guarded by the state security service, the Federal Security Service, the Defense Ministry and the National Guard.

"The Belgorod Region’s border is protected. Everyone knows that, since the beginning of last year, we have engaged the Volunteer People’s Squad. Now, we’ve achieved systemic self-defense," the governor said.
