On Wednesday, the Russian Defense Ministry said that the Black Sea Fleet and the FSB's Border Guard Service stopped a violation of the Russian state border by the British destroyer HMS Defender off Cape Fiolent

SIMFEROPOL, June 23. /TASS/. A member of the Federation Council's committee for constitutional legislation and statehood, senator from Crimea Olga Kovitidi, believes that Russia's reaction to the violation of the state border by a British destroyer was justified and proportionate to the nature of the provocation.

"Russia defends its sovereignty and territorial integrity. The reaction to the violation of the territorial sea was justified, proportionate to the nature of the provocation and consonant with the national legislation," Kovitidi told TASS.
