BEIRUT, November 6. /TASS/. Three settlements in Syria’s southern al-Quneitra governorate came under artillery shelling by Israeli troops on Friday, the Al-Ikhbariya television channel said.
The attacks targeted the villages of Ain Ziwan, Tel Ahmar, and al-Samdaniyeh and adjacent farmland. According to local authorities, several people were hurt, as the number of casualties is being verified. Damage was done to residential and auxiliary buildings.
Earlier, the Israeli military imposed strict restrictions on people’s movements in Beer Ajam, Breij, and Khan Arnab where houses are being searched for hiding members of extremist groups.
Additional checkpoints have been deployed to roadways in the western part of the neighboring al-Daraa governorate, where Israeli troops are mopping up the village of Ma’ariya. Drones are flying over the settlement.
According to the television channel, more than 200 Israeli violations, including incursions by land troops, jets, and drones, artillery shelling attacks, raids of settlements, and detentions, were registered by the Syrian authorities in southern governorates in October.
