Trump’s special envoy tells TASS he would go to Moscow for agreements in sports

According to Paolo Zampolli, he would travel to Russia if something useful could be accomplished

WASHINGTON, October 15. /TASS/. US Special Envoy for Global Partnerships Paolo Zampolli said he would be ready to visit Moscow for some useful agreements in the field of sports.

"If there is a serious purpose and the proper channels support it, yes, I would go to Moscow. I am not interested in travelling simply for a photograph. I am interested in whether something useful can be accomplished," the diplomat within both the White House and the US Department of State told TASS in an interview.

"That is one of the qualities I admire about [US] President [Donald] Trump's approach. He is willing to talk. He is willing to negotiate. But ultimately he asks: what is the result? [US] Secretary [of State Marco] Rubio brings that same focus to American diplomacy - clarity about American interests combined with a willingness to engage seriously when engagement can produce something," Zampolli explained.

"Let's explore an American-Russian football match. Let's explore serious American-Russian hockey cooperation. Let's build on what has already happened in wrestling," the US president’s special envoy stressed.
