US has no plans to cut number of troops in Europe — Pentagon chief

Pete Hegseth added that US President Donald Trump's views on many issues are very different from those of his predecessors

BERLIN, February 11. /TASS/. The US is not planning to reduce the number of its troops in Europe at the moment, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth told reporters.

"There are no plans right now in the making to cut anything," he said in response to a relevant question.

"We're not sending US troops to Ukraine," the top defense official reiterated, adding that US President Donald Trump's views on many issues are very different from those of his predecessors.

"With hopefully a rapid peace deal in Ukraine, which the president is committed to delivering, we can then review the force posture," the Pentagon chief pointed out.
