Lukashenko pardons 32 individuals convicted of extremism-related offenses

According to the report, the Belarusian Interior Ministry will "monitor their law-abiding behavior"

MINSK, November 20. /TASS/. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko pardoned 32 people sentenced for extremism-related offenses, the presidential press office reported.

"These include 8 women and 24 men. All of them pleaded guilty, repented, and appealed for clemency," the press office said, adding that 17 individuals have chronic conditions, one person is disabled, 17 have children, and 9 are aged over 50.

The Belarusian Interior Ministry will "monitor their law-abiding behavior."

Earlier, the Belarusian president pardoned 31 convicts sentenced for extremism-related crimes on November 7. Lukashenko emphasized that the pardoning of those convicted for participation in the 2020 protests in Belarus is motivated by humanitarian concerns, not by the intent to improve relations with the West.
