MOSCOW, April 14. /TASS/. A US court on Friday has charged Jack Douglas Teixeira, a member of the United States Air Force National Guard, suspected of leaking secret Pentagon documents, CNN reported.

He has been charged with unauthorized detention and transmission of national defense information and unauthorized removal of classified information and defense materials, the report said.

The next hearing is scheduled for April 19. The suspect will remain in custody for now.

Teixeira was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of divulging classified documents. US news media reported that he was the leader of the Thug Shaker Central group on Discord, the online platform that was allegedly used to leak the classified Pentagon documents to the Internet. According to the photos that accompanied the New York Times story on his arrest, there were armored vehicles at the site of his arrest and the law enforcement agents were armed.
