ST. PETERSBURG, March 4. /TASS/. Kazakhstan may become the venue for the next year’s Games of the Future, President of the St. Petersburg Phygital Sports Federation Georgy Zarubin told a press conference at TASS.
"I can say that the Games of the Future will certainly be held next year. Preliminarily, Kazakhstan could be the venue for the next Games of the Future - this country will warmly welcome Russia's high-tech tournament, which was introduced for the entire international community," Zarubin said.
Earlier, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev offered Russian President Vladimir Putin to hold the next Games of the Future in Kazakhstan.
Zarubin also noted that St. Petersburg will do everything necessary to prepare highly qualified athletes for future competitions.
"We will raise the coverage of all the disciplines that were presented at the Games of the Future in Kazan, as there is genuine interest in them in St. Petersburg. The Federation is planning several significant events this year," he emphasized.
The Games of the Future is an event that combines traditional sports with video games. The competition was held in Kazan from February 21 to March 3 for the first time in the history and was attended by more than 100,000 spectators. The first Games brought together 275 teams and over 2,000 participants from 107 countries.
