KAZAN, March 1. /TASS/. The first-ever phygital wedding took place at the Games of the Future in Kazan, Tatarstan, a TASS correspondent reports from the scene.
It was held in the City of the Future at the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Center, which has become the main venue for Games of the Future competitions.
The unique wedding ceremony joined the Orekhovs, Egor and Elena, in the bonds of marriage. The ceremony was deemed "phygital" for two reasons: first, the newlyweds met on the Internet, and, second, artificial intelligence was used in planning the wedding ceremony and in choosing the happy couple from among all applicants who expressed the wish to get married on the first day of spring.
"There will be something to show our grandchildren," phygital bride Elena noted. "One could only dream of this," phygital groom Egor enthused.
The Games of the Future are being held from February 21 to March 3 in Kazan. The main program of the first Games of the Future includes 16 disciplines, and five more in the expanded program, most of which combine cybersports and classical types of sports. More than 2,000 people from 107 countries are taking part in the competition.
