YEKATERINBURG, June 19. /TASS/. Russia’s former Secretary of State and First Deputy Prime Minister (1991-1992) Gennady Burbulis has died at the age of 76, his nephew, Yulia Burbulis, told TASS on Sunday.
"Yes, that’s right," she said answering a corresponding question.
According to Lyudmila Telen, first deputy executive director of the Yeltsin Center, Burbulis died in Baku.
Gennady Burbulis was born on August 4, 1945. In 1991-1992, he was Russia’s first deputy prime minister and a closest associate of the first Russian President, Boris Yeltsin. He was among those who drafted the Belovezhskoye agreement on the dissolution of the former Soviet Union, which was signed on December 8, 1991.
