MOSCOW, April 5. /TASS/. The preview of the space drama Challenge that was partially filmed onboard the International Space Station (ISS) will be organized at the 3rd Tsiolkovsky International Space Film Festival (Tsiolkovsky ISFF) in April, Dmitry Strugovetsk, spokesman for Russia’s state space corporation Roscosmos, told a news conference at TASS on Tuesday.

"The preview of the movie Challenge will be held as part of the festival. Let us hope the shooting crew will take part in the festival and will share interesting episodes that will be included in the film," he said, adding that Roscosmos plans several surprises during the festival.

In October 2021, on board the ISS, a movie called Challenge was filmed in space for the first time in history. The motion picture tells the story of a female doctor who travels to the orbital outpost to save a cosmonaut’s life. Actress Yulia Peresild and film director Klim Shipenko spent 12 days aboard the ISS. Cosmonauts Oleg Novitsky, Pyotr Dubrov and Anton Shkaplerov also appeared in some of the movie’s episodes. The film is a joint project of Russia’s state space corporation Roscosmos, Russia’s Channel One and the Yellow, Black and White studio.

The 3rd Tsiolkovsky International Space Film Festival will run in the city of Kaluga, in central European Russia, from April 12 through 16. Twenty-six world nations will take part. The program features films and programs about outer space and its ties with science, arts, and culture.
