Soyuz-2.1a rocket for next manned launch arrives at Baikonur space center

According to the statement, a dozen of freight wagons has been taken to the launch facility’s Pad 112 and are now being unloaded

MOSCOW, April 6. /TASS/. The Soyuz-2.1a carrier rocket to deliver the Soyuz MS-22 manned spacecraft to the International Space Station (ISS) arrived at the Baikonur space center in Kazakhstan on Tuesday, Russian state-run space corporation Roscosmos said in a statement.

"A freight train with structural units of the Soyuz-2.1 carrier rocket and its nose cone has arrived at the Turatam station. <…> The Soyuz-2.1a rocket is designated for launch of the Soyuz MS-22 manned spacecraft," the statement says.

According to the statement, a dozen of freight wagons has been taken to the launch facility’s Pad 112 and are now being unloaded. However, if Roscosmos and NASA agree on cross-flights, Kikina is expected to travel to the ISS aboard Crew Dragon, while her Soyuz seat will be taken by US astronaut Fracisco Rubio.
