SHANGHAI, October 25. /TASS/. In his message to the Pujiang International Innovation Forum in Shanghai, Russian President Vladimir Putin urged Russia and China to pay priority intention in their partnership relations to knowledge-intensive production and innovation technologies.
“Russia and China have unique economic potentials, a very rich experience of joint work in different spheres. And it is important nowadays to advance cooperation, encourage mutual investment, actively launch intensive innovation projects, expand possibilities of direct contacts between representatives of the business community,” Putin said in the message, read out to the forum by president’s aide Andrei Fursenko, who heads the Russian delegation.
A message to the forum of Chinese President Xi Jinping also highlighted a need to boost bilateral cooperation. “Russia possesses its own unique experience of innovations in different fields. I am confident that in accordance with consensus we reached with President Putin, our states will be developing cooperation and exchanges in the sphere of high technologies, which meets the interests of social-economic development of both countries, the deepening of strategic partnership relations, and a growing contribution of our peoples to peace and the development of the humankind,” the message said.
This year, Russia has the status of honoured guest to the Pujiang forum. The Russian delegation brings together heads of ministries and state institutions for development, rectors and pro-rectors of major universities, leading scientists and representatives of innovation companies.
