Another group of 103 Russians, evacuated from Gaza, arrives in Moscow

MOSCOW, November 24. /TASS/. Another group of Russian citizens, evacuated from the Gaza Strip, arrived in Russia on Friday, a TASS correspondent reported.

An Il-76 plane of the Russian emergencies ministry, performing a special flight from Cairo, has just landed at Domodedovo Airport.

The plane has 103 passengers on board, including 47 children. All of them were evacuated via the Rafah crossing on the border between Gaza and Egypt.

Earlier, the press service of the Russian emergencies ministry said that some Russians will stay with their relatives, while others were taken to temporary accommodation facilities in the cities of Volokolamsk and Klin near Moscow. They were provided with hot meals, water and warm clothes.

Russian Minister of Emergency Situations Alexander Kurenkov said at a government meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on November 22 that work on the evacuation of Russian citizens from the Gaza Strip is carried out by the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations along with the Foreign Ministry, the Federal Security Service, the Interior Ministry, the Health Ministry and other federal executive bodies concerned.

According to his information, more than 900 people have applied for evacuation assistance, including 639 Russians and 271 Palestinians relatives of Russian citizens. Starting from October 12, a total of 553 people, including 259 children, were flown to Domodedovo airport by six Russian Emergencies Ministry planes, the minister added.
