Hotel on fire in Norilsk, 100 people evacuated

The fire spread to 30 square meters, the Russian Emergencies Ministry says

MOSCOW, February 18. /TASS/. A hotel has caught fire in Norilsk, 100 people have been evacuated and nearly 40 were rescued from the blaze, the Russian Emergencies Ministry said on Saturday.

A fire broke out on the fifth floor in a hotel-type building, which was reported at 07:00 p.m. Moscow time (04:00 p.m. GMT).

"The fire is reported to have spread to 30 square meters. Firefighters have rescued 38 people, and about 100 people have been evacuated," the ministry said adding that 25 firefighters and five pieces of equipment were putting out the blaze.
