Russian ambassador to US meets Rusnano USA to discuss cooperation between countries

STANFORD /California/, December 2. /TASS/. Russia’s Ambassador to the U.S. Anatoly Antonov on Friday visited in California the office of Rusnano USA (Rusnano’s branch in the U.S.) and discussed with its head Dmitry Akhanov cooperation between Russian and American businesses, Rusnano’s head told TASS.

"The meeting with the Russian ambassador was positive, we have discussed the history and current activities of Rusnano in the U.S., the current cooperation and further technology cooperation between Russian and American companies, including options for investment cooperation," he said, adding it was his first meeting with Antonov.

In June 2016, Akhanov said in an interview with TASS that the sanctions and worse relations with the West had not affected certain Russian companies, focusing on innovation products, to access the global markets, including the U.S. market. According to him, certain high-tech products from Russia are of high demand abroad.

The Russian ambassador to the U.S. continues a tour of California. It will be over on December 3. The visit’s agenda includes meetings with compatriots, businesses, speeches at universities. Besides, the ambassador will visit Fort Ross - a former Russian compound and citadel, which now is a national attraction and a historical park.

Antonov took the office in Washington on August 31.
