MOSCOW, December 10. /TASS/. Russia has added 11 countries to its e-visa eligibility list, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.
"In accordance with the decree of the government of the Russian Federation from December 5, 2024 number 3583-r, the list of foreign countries whose citizens can apply for electronic visas has been augmented by 11 countries: Barbados, Bhutan, Zimbabwe, Jordan, Kenya, Papua New Guinea, Saint Lucia, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkmenistan and Eswatini," the ministry said. "Thus, the list now includes 64 countries."
At the same time, Andorra and Serbia, who have agreements on visa-free travel with Russia, were taken off the list.
The Foreign Ministry noted that the government decree was developed by the ministry "in order to promote the idea of a single electronic visa, which has been in operation since August 1, 2023, and in accordance with the year-long monitoring of its operation, which proves the great potential and high demand for this type of visa."
Electronic visas can be obtained at the Russian Foreign Ministry website for tourist, business, humanitarian and visiting trips. No invitation, hotel reservation or any other document that proves the goal of the trip are necessary to obtain them, and they are provided within 4 days. Children under 6 years old are provided with such visas free of charge.
