Ukrainian attacks after incursion kill about 100 people in Kursk Region — official

KURSK, November 6. /TASS/. About 100 civilians have been killed near the border in Russia’s Kursk Region, and more than 350 others have sustained injuries in attacks by Ukrainian forces since the beginning of the enemy’s invasion of the region, according to the office of the Kursk Region Human Rights Commissioner, Vladimir Firsov.

"Sweeping attacks with rockets and drones have killed about 100 civilians of the region, and wounded more than 350. More than 120,000 residents of border areas, of whom about 65% are retirees and pre-retirees, were evacuated," the office said in a statement on the VK social network.

The press service highlighted that the report of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights documents cases of arbitrary detention of civilians by Ukrainian servicemen, their torture and ill-treatment. "Attacks using explosive weapons with wide-area effects caused significant damage to the property of civilians and civilian infrastructure. <...> Many civilians are still missing. Vladimir Firsov emphasized that protecting the rights of the affected residents of the border areas of the Kursk region is now a top priority for government agencies at all levels," the statement said.

Ukraine launched a massive attack on the Kursk Region on August 6. A federal emergency is in effect in the region. Residents of borderline areas are evacuating to safe places.

As the Russian Defense Ministry reported, the Kiev regime has lost more than 29,800 troops and 184 tanks since the start of fighting in the Kursk area. Russian forces continue operations to destroy Ukrainian armed formations.
