NEW YORK, April 7. /TASS/. Russia is certain that the United States and NATO are directly or indirectly involved in the conflict in Ukraine, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in a statement, cited by CNN on Friday.
To a question about the leak to social networks of secret documents concerning US and NATO plans for preparing Ukraine’s armed forces for a counterattack, Peskov stressed that Russia did not have "the slightest doubt about direct or indirect involvement of the United States and NATO in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine."
"This level of involvement is rising gradually," CNN quotes Peskov as saying. "We keep our eye on this process. Well, of course, it makes the whole story more complicated, but it cannot influence the final outcome of the special operation."
Earlier, The New York Times cited US President Joe Biden's administration as saying that the Pentagon had launched an investigation into the leak of secret documents concerning the US and NATO plans to prepare Ukraine’s armed forces for an offensive against the Russian army. Numerous documents disclosing the details of schedules of arms deliveries, and the strength of military units were leaked to social media outlets, such as Twitter and Telegram. The documents include a timetable of preparations, including the delivery of equipment and ammunition, for a spring counterattack by Ukraine’s nine brigades, which are being trained and equipped by the United States and its allies. According to the leaked documents, six brigades were to be ready by March 31, and another three, by April 30. No data concerning the three brigades being prepared by Ukraine itself were mentioned.
An adviser to the head of the Ukrainian presidential office, Mikhail Podolyak, wrote on his Telegram channel on Friday that the data published on the social networks had nothing to do with reality and Kiev’s plans.
