MOSCOW, September 3. /TASS/. Russian-Chinese sub-commission for transport cooperation have discussed the role of national navigation systems GLONASS and Beidou in cross-border cargo traffic, GLONASS press-service has told TASS.
The two countries’ transport ministers, Maksim Sokolov and Yang Chuantang, chair the sub-commission.

"The sub-commission discussed key issues of Russian-Chinese cooperation in motor transport and roads and maritime, inland waterway and railway transport," the company’s press-service said. "The parties made a decision to cooperate proactively in using the Beidou and GLONASS systems in truck traffic between Russia and China."
Russia suggested considering the possibility of using Russian experience to create a national system of response to road accidents ERA-GLONASS provided a similar project was to be implemented in China.
"Currently we see Russian-Chinese cooperation acquire a practical dimension," the chief of international projects at GLONASS, Aleksandr Bondarenko, said. "Alongside creating and commissioning a system of emergency response to accidents in China we will be prepared for joint work under the projects to create systems of control and effective management of passenger traffic and systems to control heavy trucks, the implementation of navigation technologies in the operation of insurance companies and control the condition of stationary and natural sites.
