Alrosa reports diamond mining down 0.8% in H1 2026

MOSCOW, September 28. /TASS/. Diamond mining dropped by 0.8% year-on-year during the first six months of 2026 to 11.8 mln carats (11.9 mln carats in the like period of the last year), Russian diamond miner Alrosa reports.

Key operational metrics remained approximately at the last-year level. The decline in recovery volumes under the operating plan was compensated by growing average grade in consequence of a change in the deposit development structure.

"The company assesses results of its operation as being in line with development trends observed in the global raw and cut diamond sector," Alrosa added.

Alrosa plans to mine 25-26 mln carats of diamonds in 2026 and scale production up to 29-30 mln carats "when the market will adjust itself," Alrosa CEO Pavel Marinychev said earlier.
